Harper’s election could be undone

by Alice Klein

Under the radar of the mainstream, the movement to unseat Harper is growing strong. VoteforEnvironment.ca has been up for just over a week and it is getting an impressive 10,000 unique users a day. A steady stream of media including the Toronto Star, the Ottawa Citizen, Le Devoir, CBC Canada Votes, and Canadian Press. Web campaigner Avaaz has been highlighting the site as a go to for election information and even Gilles Duceppe has been plugging the site as an excellent source of information on how to defeat the Conservatives.

And Elizabeth May has endorsed strategic voting saying she would rather have no seats than elect the Conservatives. The Star reported this weekend that more than 40 percent of Liberal and NDP voters were possibly interested in voting strategically this election to curb Harper’s bid for a majority government.

That is a large enough group to shock the media and make history on October 14. Whether your issue is the arts, the environment or any one of the myriad of ways that Harper is a threat to Canadian values, the www.VoteforEnvironment.ca site offers an unprecedented depth of information on how to vote smart in every riding in the country. Information is power. Pass it on.
